Developments in the Waseem murder case

Four people have been arrested today, Tuesday 29 September 2009, in connection with the murder of Umair Waseem.

Umair, 22,was found in a car park off Moor Road, Anglezarke, near Chorley, shortly before 10am on Monday 2 February 2009.

His ankles and wrists were bound and he had been severely beaten. The cause of his death was severe head trauma.

Greater Manchester Police arrested two men, aged 23 and 26, on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder. A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and a 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery.

All remain in police custody for questioning. Two of the men arrested today were on police bail having previously been arrested on suspicion of murder.
