Factory fire causes Bolton road closures

A number of roads remain closed following a fire at a factory in Bolton.

At 7pm on Tuesday 29 September 2009, police were called to Brownlow Way, Halliwell, following a report of a fire.

Officers attended and discovered a factory was alight. The fire service was already at the scene and dealing with the blaze.

Brownlow Way and a number of surrounding routes were closed and 12 homes were evacuated as a precaution.

Nobody was injured in the fire and inquiries into the cause are ongoing.

The closures remain in place and residents are not able to return to their homes while the safety of the building is assessed.
