Collyhurst road accident witness appeal

Three men are in hospital following a road traffic collision in Collyhurst.

Shortly after 3.40am on Thursday 1 October 2009, police were called to the junction of Cheetham Hill Road and Miller Street.

Officers attended and discovered a Honda Civic had collided with a lamppost. Two men, aged 32 and 30, were thrown from the car and have been taken to hospital where their condition is described as serious.

The driver, a 26-year-old man, was extricated by Greater Manchester Fire Services and is currently in a critical condition in hospital.

Cheetham Hill Road was closed off between the junction of New Bridge Street and Corporation Street by police while the incident was dealt with.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision to call them on 0161 856 3573.
