Shop owner attacked

Two men assaulted an owner of a butchers and stole a bag of cash in Wigan.

At 5:30pm on Wednesday 30 September, the offenders attacked the man while he was taking his shop takings home in his van.

On the journey, the man stopped at Lidl on Darlington Street and when he returned to his car, the two men attacked.

One offender kicked him and him punched in the face and the second offender took the cash from the back seat of the van. They ran off towards Scholes.

The offender that carried out the assault is described as a 19-year-old man of mixed race, wearing a black jacket with its hood up and jeans.

The second offender is white, of medium build, with a large nose and between the ages of 18 and 19 years old. He was wearing a black hooded jacket and dark jeans.

The cash bag had the words Northern Diver written on the side and had a rubber handle.
