Woman seriously injured in collision

A WOMAN was taken to hospital and four cars damaged in a collision in Rochdale.

Police were called to Ashfield Road, Rochdale at about 8pm on Tuesday 20 October 2009, following reports of a multi-vehicle collision.

Officers attended and discovered a Vauxhall Corsa had collided with three parked cars; a Toyota Avenis, Yaris and Mercedes E220.

A 46-year-old woman who was attempting to get into the Toyota Yaris at the time of the collision suffered a suspected fractured arm and serious head injury. She remains in a stable condition in hospital.

A 20-year-old man who was driving the Corsa was taken to hospital for treatment to an arm injury.

Witnesses are asked to call the Road Policing Unit on 0161 856 8809.
