Singh not murdered

POLICE who launched a murder inquiry after the death of a policewoman in Manchester have said her death is no longer being treated as suspicious.

PC Vijay Singh, 37, was found dead at her home on Tuesday 3 November 2009, and detectives arrested her 39-year-old husband Wlati Singh, on suspicion of murder.

However, subsequent investigations established there were no suspicious circumstances.

Mr Singh was later released without charge.

The body of the mother-of-four, an officer with Greater Manchester Police for 14 years, was found by two of her children.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission was asked to investigate how officers dealt with an alleged assault on her by Mr Singh over the weekend.
