WANTED: 39-year-old Khaliq was arrested in connection with a number of violent attacks

A MANCHESTER man has been arrested in connection with a string of violent offences in Bury.

Officers wanted to speak to Tariq Khaliq, 39, about violent offenses that occurred in a house in Prestwich from August 2009.

He was arrested shortly after 10pm on Sunday 10 January 2010, when officers carried out a warrant at a house on Seymour Grove in Stretford.

He has been arrested on suspicion of assault, threats to kill, criminal damage and burglary. He remains in police custody.

Police Constable Jayne Evans said: “We are investigating a number of violent offences and are keen to trace those responsible and would like to hear from anyone with information on Khaliq.”

DANGEROUS: Police are warning the pubic not to approach Khaliq

GREATER Manchester Police would like to trace a man following a string of violent offences in Bury.

Tariq Khaliq, 39, has connections with Prestwich and south Manchester, and police are appealing for his whereabouts.

The most recent offences police are investigating are violent offences at a house in Prestwich, from August 2009.

Khaliq is described as Asian,  of slim build and 5ft 9in tall. He speaks with a Manchester accent and has short black hair and brown eyes.

He is also believed to be driving a “58” reg silver car.

The most recent offences Khaliq is wanted for are domestic. It is believed he may have access to firearms.

GREATER Manchester Police  want to speak to a man who may hold vital information about the kidnap of two girls.

CAN YOU HELP:Police are appealing for Wajid's current whereabouts.

Mohammed Wajid, 26, was last known to be living on Duckworth Road, Prestwich but police are appealing for his current whereabouts.

Officers investigating an incident where two girls were forced into a car and taken to a court, where they were offered money in return for the girls retracting statements, would like to speak to him. Wajid is known to have friends and associates in the Rochdale and Prestwich areas.

Ashafaq Yousaf, 23, of Stavordale, Falinge and 21-year-old Ghulam Hadhar of St Peter’s Street, Rochdale have been charged with kidnapping.
